  1. Tell me more about getting to camp on the first day.

    Parents are required to drop off their campers at the location they have registered. Our drop-off time is 9:00 a.m. daily with pick-up at 4:00 p.m. at a designated area of the location. All parents need to sign in and out their camper. With advanced notice we can offer your child(ren) before and after camp care starting at 7:00 a.m. and ending at 6:00 p.m. This program is fully supervised by our trained staff, who offer activities designed to keep our campers buys until camp starters of their parents pick them up. Parents must escort their campers to and from the facility.

  2. When I register, how much is the deposit to hold my child’s spot?

    A $100 deposit is required for every 1 week session a child is registered. This is included in the camp price.

  3. Are there additional fees?

    We have tried to make our fees as inclusive as possible. Your child will be receiving the following:

    • A camp photo for each registered session

    We offer some optional services below each for a nominal fee (please contact us for pricing):

    • Lunch Program
      • Parents should provide daily snacks and drinks at morning and afternoon recess as well as lunch if the onsite hot lunch option is not selected
    • Early Morning Supervision from 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
    • After Camp Supervision from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
    • Purchase of Robotic kits and software

    Non-sufficient funds fee – If a cheque is returned due to non-sufficient funds, a fee of $35 will be applied to each cheque returned.

  4. What is the “Large Family” discount?

    For two week enrolments, we offer 5% discount and for three or more weeks we offer 10% discount. For each additional family member, we offer 5% discount. This discount will be applied after payment has been received and will be refunded via a cheque from STEM MINDS within 30 days after commencement of the camp week

    Please note: This discount applies to ‘Regular Fees’ only and not additional program fees (e.g. lunch and before or after camp supervision).

  5. What if my child is reluctant to go to camp?

    As the summer approaches and our campers prepare themselves for camp, a few may experience some level of apprehension. For them, a new environment, meeting new friends, adjusting to a new counsellor and travelling to a new location may be the cause of the discomfort. However, children are complex and may have other uncommunicated problems. Please do not panic. “I won’t go” or “I don’t want to go” are not unexpected responses. With care and a positive exposure to camp, apprehension disappears quickly.
    If you observe any apprehension in your child or have concerns, it would certainly help if you let our Directors know in advance. They will be able to offer many suggestions which include: encouraging your family to attend our Open House when it is scheduled and/or a visit to our camp site prior to your child’s first day of camp.   6. Can I register my child for 1 week?

    Yes! We accept one week registrations but do hope that you will join us for more.

  7. Can I change my child’s stay to another session?

    Yes! As long as there is space in the program desired we are happy to make the change.

  8. What if I reduce or cancel my child’s stay at STEM Minds?

    Cancellation requests must be received 15 business days before the camp starts. Requests must be emailed to info@stemminds.com. Once approved, parents may choose one of the following repayment options:

    • A full credit towards your next year registration fees, or
    • a refund cheque minus the $100 non-refundable deposit per camper, per week.

    Please note that no refunds will be issued online.
    Days missed for any reason while attending a camp cannot be refunded.
    In the case of an illness of 2 consecutive weeks or more while attending a camp, a written request accompanied by a Doctor certificate is required for refund of 50% of fees paid.

  9. How do I extend my child’s stay at camp?

    You may add additional weeks to your camper’s registration at any time as long as there is space available. Applicable fees and discounts will be applied after registration and once deposit is received.

  10. What special days are planned for the camp?

    Our campers will be busy learning and having fun at the camp location each day. There may be opportunities to visit companies and local business that align with the camp lessons. All parents will be notified in advance of any off-campus trips and excursions.
